Ski tracks with "snow guaranteed"

Welcome to Torsby Ski Tunnel, the first ski tunnel in Sweden, open since June 2006. In addition to currently being the longest ski tunnel, it also contains the only indoor biathlon arena in the world. The cross country skiing season starts already in June with first-class, ski tracks where snow is guaranteed.

Ski-ing for everyone

It makes no difference wheather or not you come alone or as a part of a group, if your are a beginner, leisure skier or even a national team member - Torsby Ski Tunnel welcomes everyone. Why not surprise your friends with a one of a kind activity!

The company, the ski team or your friends

You can book a guided tour of the facilities and and learn about the history of the ski tunnel - from the drawing board to reality. You can also book activities, such as a biathlon competition or you can hire an instructor and take your skiing to new levels.

The ski tunnel

The layout of the tracks follow the natural topography of the terrain, which means varied ski-ing for our guests.

The ski tracks are 1,3 km long and there is a 12 m hight difference between the lowest and highest points, so the total climb after one lap is about 24 m. There are tracks for both classical ski-ing and skating along the 8 m wide tunnel. Because the skiers are allowed to ski in either direction of the tunnel, the total track lenght adds up to 2,6 km of diverse ski-ing. Inside the tunnel we keep the temperature constant between 0 and -3 degrees Celsius.

Biathlon arena

The skitunnel contains the only indoor biathlon arena in the world. The shooting range includes 6 individual lanes and offers a unique possibility of shooting practice, under perfect and constant conditions.

Sports shop

The sports shop offers a wide assortment of skiing equipment and the customer always has the opportunity to try out the products before the purchase. The shop also provides a rental service, e.g. ski-ing garments and equipment. In addition, the sports shop can provide a waxing & preparation service, assuring you an optimized ski-ing experience.

Useful information

On the grounds our guests have access to separate waxing sheds, changing rooms with showers and a sauna. We can also provide gym- and test centre facilities..

Appetizing

Our new restaurant, Snölyktan, is located on the second floor with a view over the ski-ing area. Snölyktan offers home-cooked meals as well as fairtrade coffee and sandwiches.

Scenic location

The ski tunnel is located in the Valberget recreational area, with a solid tradition as a training centre. The Stjerne School Ski & Biathlon Upper Secondary School has it's base location here. The area also offers tracks for mountainbiking and running in addition to a 5 km paved & lighted roller-ski track. This track is directly connected to the outdoor biathlon shooting station with 30 individual ranges. During the winter season, the running tracks are used as ski trails. This location is ideal to enjoy the beautiful Värmland nature, whether you are here to train or just take a relaxing walk.
